thursday
we had an outdoor activity class today. i had a great time. i really enjoyed playing the tour guide.
we met at magellan's cross(can't believe it was his first time there having spent 9 months in Cebu) and he took pictures of the monument. our next stop was the Basilica del Santo NiƱo. Sean, again, ready with his camera took shots of the pilgrim grounds and the facade of the old church. we went inside while a mass was going on and then back out again. all the while i was telling him tidbits of Cebu's history.
then i decided we should go to Plaza Independencia and then head straight up to Fort San Pedro. it's not that far really. we only had to walk a few meters. so we did.
i have to admit it was my first time there. technically not my first time but i've not gone up the Fort before to see the cannons and what looked like bell towers. there were flowering trees (kalachuchi) too. i dont know how the trees were able to grop there considering how theyre rooted in rocks. afterwards, i told Sean how he might want to see the Badjaos. since we were very near the sea then why couldn't we just walk the distance. walking is no problem for me. i love walking. but to Sean, who is a bit overweight, well actually not just a bit, it must've felt like punishment.
we didn't see any Badjaos, disappointingly. so we turned, then i suggested we go to Casa Gorordo. id rather we walked to the old house if i only knew the way to get there. i know though that it wasnt that far from where we were. but Sean look steamed with sweat droplets popping out of his face like lava from a volcano that he hailed a taxi before i could convince him to stride a few more meters.
Casa Gorordo is supposed to be the oldest house in Cebu. it was well preserved and turned into a museum. unfortunately for Sean, when we got to the house we saw a sign that the house is getting a make over. meaning the museum is closed. but thankfully the caretaker was kind enough to let us in to see the second floor of the house which is the veranda.
after our business in that house was over, we walked down to the Heritage of Cebu site where a big sculpture of scenes and personalities were stationed.
then we walked down Colon Street to get something to eat and wind down.
everything was for free except for entrance fee to the Fort which cost Sean 40 pesos for the both of us, 42.50 pesos for the taxi ride and of course the afternoon meals we had which amounted to a little over 100 pesos. (actually it was the meal he had. i had iced tea, wasnt hungry that time. he had a burger, a rice meal and a refill)
it was all a bargain.

oh CILA messaged me again. should i go for the interview with the CEO or not? the pay isnt worth it anyway. and i have to go there in formal/business attire. cant i just go there in my uniform? such a hassle bringing a bag full of clothes and stuff. to confirm or not to confirm appointment? now THAT is the question. and ive less than a day to think about it..not that i really think about it.
